Your RAM truck is tough and rugged, built to conquer the toughest jobs or the great outdoors. It always includes a range of advanced safety features that can warn you of potential accidents so you can prevent them. As your RAM dealership, we want to tell you how some of these features work.

From Your RAM Dealership: 3 Advanced Safety Features in 2025 RAM Models
Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking
This system uses advanced camera and radar technology to monitor any vehicle ahead of you on the road. The radar calculates the distance to the other vehicle, and the system compares this to your present speed. If it determines you’re too close to the other vehicle and a collision is possible, a warning icon will appear on your front screen. In addition, you’ll hear warning beeps that rise in intensity if you continue to close.
If you apply the brakes and increase your following distance, the warnings will stop. The active braking feature will intervene if a collision is imminent and you haven’t hit the brakes or taken other action. It will stop your Ram almost instantly to try and prevent an accident or, at the very least, reduce the damage caused.
Automatic Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop
This feature reduces the need to adjust your speed on the road. You can set a following distance, from a choice of short, medium, or long, and ACC will maintain this distance from other vehicles without your need to intervene. If the vehicle in front slows down, ACC will reduce speed automatically to keep the set distance.
If the vehicle ahead stops, ACC will bring your RAM to a gentle stop. ACC automatically restarts your engine if you stop for two seconds or less. If you stop for longer than two seconds, you can push the button on your screen or tap the gas pedal, and ACC will resume.
Drowsy Driver Detection
Fatigue can overcome even the best driver, particularly if you’re traveling late at night or are tired from a long day at work. If you become drowsy, you could lose control of your RAM, and an accident could happen. This feature monitors your reactions, including your steering wheel control and remaining centered in your lane.
If the system detects signs of drowsiness, like erratic driving, intentionally moving to cross into another lane, or similar behavior, it will alert you to the danger. You’ll hear warning beeps, and a warning icon will appear on your front screen. If repeated signs of drowsiness are detected, an icon of a coffee mug appears to advise you to take a break from driving.
